The deity’s peaceful expression reveals kindness and generosity. The Lord is seen holding an ankusha(elephant goad) and conch (shanku). The elephant goad signifies destruction of obstacles while the shanku is an auspicious symbol for protection against evil and for attracting good luck and prosperity. A bejewelled crown with Lord Shiva’s emblem of the crescent moon adorns Ganesha’s head, reminding us that he is the son of the Creator. The right hand mudra showers Blessings while the left hand holds a vessel of laddus, symbolic of blessing one with wealth and abundance. The rat is the Lord’s vehicle and represents the ability to tenaciously overcome obstacles.
